The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, on Monday convened a strategic meeting with all Operation Commanders to review existing security measures and strengthen efforts toward a more peaceful and secure Kano State.
CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s spokesperson, in a statement, said the meeting, held at the Police Headquarters, focused on appreciating officers for their dedication, evaluating recent gains, and developing improved strategies to tackle emerging threats across the state.
According to him, CP Bakori used the session to assess the security successes recorded in recent months while identifying areas requiring increased attention.
Guided by directives from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, he emphasized the need for intensified community engagement and renewed sensitization campaigns to educate residents on their role in maintaining peace and security.
A major highlight of the meeting was the review of security arrangements around Kano’s border communities, especially in Shanono, Tsanyawa, and Rogo local government areas. The CP reiterated the importance of reinforcing ongoing operations with adequate manpower, equipment, and sustained vigilance.
CP Bakori reaffirmed his commitment to keeping Kano safe for residents and visitors, urging Operation Commanders to heighten intelligence gathering efforts and remain relentless in the fight against crime.
The gathering had in attendance Deputy Commissioners of Police in charge of Administration, Operations, and Investigation; Assistant Commissioners overseeing Intelligence, Area Commands, Squadrons, and specialized units; as well as Tactical Commanders from formations such as Rapid Response, Special Intervention, Anti-Kidnapping, Anti-Daba, Dragon, and Safer Highway teams.
