The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has achieved a historic milestone, collecting N304 billion in October 2025 — the highest monthly revenue ever recorded by any command in the Service’s history.
In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, Tunde Ayagbalo, said the figure represents a sharp increase from the N264 billion recorded in October 2024, pushing Apapa’s total revenue for the first ten months of 2025 to N2.4 trillion, surpassing its entire 2024 performance.
Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, attributed the record-breaking performance to enhanced efficiency, officer dedication, and the deployment of technology-driven processes that have boosted trade facilitation and compliance.
Oshoba announced plans to introduce a “drive-through scanning” system capable of processing up to 150 containers per hour, which he described as a game changer for port operations in West Africa.
“This achievement proves our readiness to process higher trade volumes and deliver greater returns to the Federal Government,” Oshoba said.
He assured that the command would continue to prioritise automation, stakeholder collaboration, and anti-smuggling measures to sustain its revenue growth.
“This N304 billion record is not just a number — it’s a symbol of transformation and accountability,” Oshoba added.
