Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the 2024 cash backing for the promotion of 3,594 teaching and non-teaching staff of the State’s Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), with immediate effect.
Sam Bola Onile, the Commission’s Press Secretary, in a statement on Monday, said the Executive Chairman of TESCOM, Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar, disclosed this while addressing the management staff of the commission in his office.
According to the statement, the TESCOM Boss described the Governor AbdulRazaq’s gesture as further proof of his administration’s commitment to improving teachers’ welfare in the state.
He recalled that upon assumption of office in 2019, Governor AbdulRazaq cleared the backlog of promotion arrears for 2015, 2016, and 2017, and has since consistently funded promotion benefits up to 2023.
Abubakar assured staff that the current administration will continue to ensure timely cash backing of all promotions.
While commending the governor’s huge investment in teachers’ welfare, he pledged the commission’s total support and commitment, promising that staff will justify their pay with dedication and hard work.
