The Federal Government has approved N1 billion for the establishment of a Police Training Institute in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Abdulhamid Ahmed Malam Madori, during the Jigawa State Government Citizen Engagement Programme (JSGCEP) held in Kafin Hausa.

Senator Madori, who represents Jigawa Northeast Senatorial District, stated that the project was captured and approved in the 2025 federal budget.

He also confirmed that the Senate has passed the bill establishing the institute, which is currently awaiting presidential assent from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him, the proposed institute will play a vital role in producing highly trained and modern police personnel to enhance law enforcement efforts across the country.

“I sponsored the motion for the establishment of the Police Training Institute, which was deliberated upon and passed into law by the Senate.

“N1 billion was also allocated in the 2025 budget for the project, and the funds have been approved,” Madori said.

In further support of local security, the senator donated a new Toyota Hilux vehicle to the Kafin Hausa Divisional Police Headquarters.

He also facilitated the renovation and furnishing of the police division and barracks to boost officers’ morale.

Beyond security, Senator Madori highlighted other community empowerment initiatives. He said over 8,000 youths and women in Kafin Hausa have benefited from his empowerment programs.

He also contributed over N5 million toward the completion of the central Juma’at mosque in the area.

He concluded by thanking the people of Kafin Hausa for the warm reception and support during his visit.
