Plateau State Government has further relaxed the curfew earlier imposed on Jos North Local Government Area and its environs following what it described as an improvement in the security situation across the area.

The government said the decision was reached after consultations with security agencies, which adjudged the situation in the affected communities as satisfactory.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the curfew will now run daily from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., effective from Wednesday, 13 May 2026.

The statement urged residents to continue complying strictly with the directive and cooperate with security agencies in maintaining peace and order.

The government also appreciated citizens for their support, patience, and understanding during the period of the restrictions.

It further called on residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and promptly report suspicious movements and activities to relevant security agencies.

The curfew was initially imposed to address security concerns and restore normalcy in the area.
