Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano command have arrested 5 vandals in the state.
Four of the suspects namely Abdulbasi Usman 19yrs, Yahaya Isa 20yrs, Abubakar Sadiq Abdullahi 20yrs, residents of Unguwar Rimi, Kumbotso local government and Adamu Murtala 20yrs of Unguwa uku, Tarauni LG have been arrested for allegedly vandalizing and stealing properties belonging to Government Secondary School Unguwar Rimi and GSS Unguwa uku in Tarauni local government area.
Facilities stole at the schools comprise roofing sheets, iron rods, iron buckets, 20 3-seater cushion chairs, mats, 7 windows, 2 ceiling fans etc. This is in addition to important documents including learning-teaching materials which were also not spared by the vandals. Attempt is being made to get back the items sold to a receiver which is also in the NSCDC net.
The other vandal, Alasan Inusa 17yrs of Gidan Tela, PRP, Dambatta LG was apprehended by the Corps after vandalizing and stealing electric pole equipments at PRP in Dambatta.
Exhibits recovered from the suspect include six (6) insulators, 3m aluminum cable, different varieties of nuts and brass.
Investigation into the case has been completed and the suspects will be charged to Court.
