Editor

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Jigawa state has embarked on a sensitization campaign against the posting of fake news and other abusive language on social media platforms.

The Community Mobilization Officer in Birniwa Local Government Area, Gambo Garba Malam-madori, disclosed to newsmen on Wednesday during the campaign exercise.

He said the essence of the campaign was to mobilize youths on the negative effect of posting fake news and other offensive words against each other on social media platforms.

Garba noted that social media is a medium that should be used to share positive messages and promote community development among people.

One of the religious leaders in the community, Abdulmummin Waziri, advised youths to avoid posting fake and abusive language that could lead to misunderstandings between the public.

Among the high dignitaries that graced the event were bloggers, religious leaders, youth group representatives, and a former Commissioner.
