The Kano State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KASA) has been recognised for its commitment to transparency and accountability in revenue generation, earning commendation from the Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS).
The recognition was announced at the KIRS Award Dinner held on Saturday, where KASA was honoured as one of the most compliant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state in terms of revenue remittance and adherence to financial regulations.
Speaking on the development, the pioneer Director-General of KASA, Kabiru Dakata, reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to upholding the mandate given upon its establishment by Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
He noted that upon assumption of office, he had pledged to ensure that all revenues generated by the agency are transparently accounted for and fully remitted into the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) account.
According to Dakata, the recognition by KIRS serves as both an endorsement of KASA’s efforts and a motivation to sustain high standards of financial discipline within the agency.
“This honour reflects our unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and due process in the discharge of our responsibilities.
We remain resolute in ensuring that all revenues collected are properly remitted to boost the state’s IGR,” he said.
He further expressed appreciation to the Kano State Internal Revenue Service for the recognition, describing it as a morale booster for the agency’s staff and management.
The Director-General added that KASA would continue to strengthen its operational framework, enhance compliance among stakeholders in the signage and advertisement sector, and contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of Kano State.
The award comes amid ongoing efforts by the state government to improve revenue generation and reduce dependence on federal allocations, with MDAs playing a critical role in driving the state’s fiscal sustainability and supporting the administration’s broader development agenda.
