The Kano State Censorship Board has facilitated the conversion to Islam of three female artists from the open theatre entertainment industry after they voluntarily expressed interest in embracing the faith.
A statement on Monday by the Board’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, said the event took place during a colorful ceremony held at the Board’s conference hall, where the Executive Secretary, Abba El-Mustapha, guided the new converts through the process of accepting Islam.
Speaking at the occasion, El-Mustapha described the development as one of the happiest and most fulfilling moments of his tenure in office.
He said the women’s decision was influenced by the good character, peaceful coexistence, and moral values displayed by their Muslim friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
The converts, identified as Dicson, Zara, who joined the industry from Bauchi State, and Hannatu from Gombe State, expressed joy over their decision and appreciated the warm relationship they had enjoyed with friends and associates in Kano.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Dicson said the beauty of Islam, reflected in the conduct and peaceful interactions of Muslims around them, played a major role in inspiring their decision to embrace the religion.
