Kano Announces End of Third Term for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The Kano State Ministry of Education wishes to inform parents, guardians, proprietors of schools, and the general public that the 2025/2026 academic session will officially come to an end with the conclusion of the third term in all public and private schools across the state.

According to the approved school calendar, all day schools are to close for the third term on Friday, 31st July, 2026, while boarding schools will close on Saturday, 1st August, 2026.

The Ministry further announces that the 2026/2027 academic session will commence on Sunday, 7th September, 2026, for boarding school students, while day schools will resume on Monday, 8th September, 2026.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, congratulates students, teachers, school administrators, and parents for the successful completion of another academic session.

He commends their commitment, resilience, and cooperation throughout the year, which have contributed significantly to the progress of education in Kano State.

The Commissioner urges parents and guardians to ensure that their children make productive use of the holiday by engaging in educational, moral, and recreational activities that will enhance their academic and personal development.

He also advises school proprietors to use the vacation period to carry out necessary maintenance and preparations ahead of the new academic session.

He wishes all students and education stakeholders a peaceful, safe, and rewarding holiday and looks forward to a successful commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session.
