No fewer than Three thousands One hundred and five domestic Animals have been Vaccinated against lung diseases in Kaugama local government area of Jigawa state.
The Head of department, Agriculture and Natural resources, Malam Nasir Ibrahim made this known to the local government officer of the area Musa Muhammad Hadejia shortly after flagging off the vaccinations exercise in affected area.
He said Animals affected are 2045 Cows and 1060 sheep and Goats in Cumbuleske, Ganuwa and Rigar kwagga Community in Kaugama local Government area.
Nasir added that , the local Government council has procured vaccines and other ne mmcessary logistics to forestall future occurrence and spread of the disease.
The pulmonary lung disease are often causes by Bacterial Pneumonia: Often secondary to viral infections or aspiration. Common bacteria include Bordetella bronchiseptica, Escherichia coli which can cause difficulty in breathing and coughing.
Parasites: Lungworms such as Aelurostrongylus abstrusus (in cats) and Oslerus osleri (in dogs) can cause interstitial pneumonia and chronic coughing .
Others are, Toxic & Environmental Causes are Herbicide Toxicity (Paraquat): Ingestion of this herbicide causes severe lung damage, including pulmonary edema, hemorrhage, and progressive fibrosis, often leading to death from asphyxia .
In his vote of thanks the chairman Kaltau-Hore Association Malam Shayubu Adamu has commended the effort of the council chairman of Kaugama for taking necessary action after receiving the reports.
