Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare, protection, and development of vulnerable children and orphans, describing them as an integral part of society and future leaders of the state.
Governor Yusuf made this known during a Sallah visit to the Nassarawa Children’s Home where he interacted warmly with the children and shared a meal with them as part of activities marking the festive celebration and demonstrating government’s care and compassion for vulnerable members of society.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Kano Government House, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday.
Addressing the children during the visit, Governor Yusuf assured them that they are no different from his biological children, stressing that their welfare, education, health, and overall well-being remain a priority of his administration.
“You are my children too. You should never see yourselves as abandoned or forgotten because this government belongs to you and will continue to care for you. We will continue to support you to become better citizens and responsible leaders of tomorrow,” the Governor stated.
Governor Yusuf emphasized that every child has a purpose in life as ordained by Almighty Allah, adding that many children at the home have continued to demonstrate exceptional talent, discipline, and promise, particularly in memorising the Holy Qur’an and excelling in academic and moral upbringing.
The Governor commended the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and Persons with Special Needs, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani, for her dedication, honesty, transparency, and commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable children in the state.
