Governor Yusuf Donates Cows to Persons With Special Needs for Sallah

The Kano State Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and Persons with Special Needs has donated one cow each to six clusters of persons with special needs across the state to support them during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The gesture, facilitated by the Kano State Government, also included a cash donation of N20,000 to each cluster as transport support.

The benefiting groups include persons with spinal cord injuries, persons with albinism, persons affected by leprosy, the visually impaired, the hearing impaired, and persons with physical disabilities.

Speaking during the distribution ceremony held at Nassarawa Children’s Home, the Commissioner of the Ministry, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani HOD, said the initiative was part of the commitment of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to ensure that vulnerable members of society celebrate Sallah with joy and dignity alongside their families.

She stated that the governor considered it necessary to extend support to persons with special needs and other vulnerable groups as part of the administration’s humanitarian programs.

The Emirs representing the six clusters received the cows on behalf of their respective groups and expressed appreciation to Governor Yusuf and the Commissioner for their continued support and concern for persons with special needs in the state.

They also offered prayers for Allah’s guidance, protection, and strength for the governor to continue serving humanity.

The Director of Persons with Special Needs, Dr. Binta Bala, commended the Commissioner for initiating the gesture and ensuring its successful implementation.

She also praised the Commissioner for her consistent commitment to the welfare and well-being of persons with special needs in Kano State.

Similarly, the state government donated one cow each to Nassarawa Children’s Home, Remand Home Goron Dutse, Kwalli VVF Centre, and Tudun Maliki Torrey Home to enable residents to celebrate the Sallah festivities happily.

Representatives of the various homes received the donations on behalf of the beneficiaries.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the welfare, inclusion, and well-being of vulnerable groups across Kano State.
