Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, over the death of his beloved mother, Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, who passed away at the age of 92.
This was contained in a condolence message issued by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, in Kano on Monday.
In the message, Governor Yusuf described the late Alhaja Sidikat Basiru as a devout Muslim, a compassionate mother, and an exemplary matriarch whose life was defined by humility, total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, and selfless sacrifice.
The Governor noted that her outstanding virtues and commitment to nurturing her children with sound moral and religious values are clearly reflected in the exemplary character and distinguished public service of Senator Basiru and other members of her family.
He said the late Alhaja Sidikat Basiru lived an impactful life and left behind a legacy of faith, integrity, and service that will continue to inspire generations.
Governor Yusuf extended his heartfelt condolences to Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, the entire Basiru family, friends, and associates, praying that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He also prayed that Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, accepts her righteous deeds, and grants her eternal abode in Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
