Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu has on Wednesday urged Christian followers in the state to use the Yuletide season to Preach Gospel of peace and unity in the state.
The governor made this call in a Christmas message to Christians followers in the state as they celebrate this year’s Christmas.
He said Sokoto is known as home of peace for a very long time, ” We need to maintain the hard-earned reputation.”
“The best way we can achieve that is by contributing our quota individually and collectively, so we all have that responsibility,” he added.
He, however, enjoined Christians in the state to continue to live in peace with their host communities in the overall development of the state.
“Sokoto is a home for all, irrespective of tribal or religious backgrounds.
“We ensure free education for all students, including those of the resident communities.”
“The present administration had executed.a myriad of developmental projects in the Christian dominated and called on them to ensure harmonious coexistence.”
He further called on them to continue to support the present administration in its effort to make Sokoto better.
“I wish Christians followers and all communities a merry Christmas, a happy and prosperous new year 2025.
