Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic (HAFEDPOLY) Kazaure in Jigawa State has secured approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to introduce additional National Diplomas (ND) and Higher National Diplomas (HND) programmes.
The Acting Rector, Dr Bashir Ahmad Danzomo, said the approval would strengthen the institution’s academic capacity and equip students with practical skills for employment and self-reliance.
He commended the NBTE and its accreditation team, pledging the institution’s commitment to maintaining academic standards.
The Council Chairman, Dr Jummai Kperoge, said the new programmes would enhance the polytechnic’s academic profile and will continue to attract students from across the country.
The approved ND courses include;- Mass Communication, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration, Accountancy-related fields, Fashion and Design, Polymer Technology, Library and Information Science, Banking and Finance, and Hospitality Management.
At the HND level, the programmes include;- Journalism and Media Studies, Library and Information Science, Polymer Technology, Fashion and Design, Statistics, Accountancy, Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, and Architectural Technology.
The NBTE also approved ND programmes in Public Health Technology, Community Health Technology and Environmental Health Technology at the College of Health Sciences Technology, as well as Animal Health Technology and Production Technology at the School of Agricultural Technology.
The management described the approval as a significant boost to skills development and the institution’s efforts to prepare graduates for employment and self-reliance.
