The Kano State Police Command has engaged civil society organizations (CSOs), transport unions, market leaders and other stakeholders as part of activities marking the 2026 Customer Service Week.
The program, held on Wednesday at the Command Headquarters in Bompai, Kano, was also observed simultaneously across Area Commands and Divisional Police Headquarters in the state’s 44 local government areas.
The Command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, in a statement said the celebration provided an opportunity to assess police service delivery, gather public feedback and identify areas requiring improvement.
As part of the activities, the police held an interactive session with civil society organizations under the Kano Network of NGOs (KANET), led by Dr. Auwal Halilu.
The session focused on police accountability, service delivery and strengthening collaboration between the police and civil society.
The Command also engaged transport stakeholders at Rijiyar Zaki Motor Park, where officers interacted with union leaders, drivers and commuters on road safety, security concerns and police service channels.
Similar engagements were conducted in major markets across the state, where members of the public were given assessment questionnaires to gauge satisfaction with police responsiveness, professionalism and public confidence.
The Command also conducted public enlightenment on the mandate and operations of the Complaint Response Unit (CRU), including channels for reporting complaints and mechanisms for response to allegations of unprofessional conduct.
Sporting activities were also organized to promote team spirit and unity among police personnel.
The Commissioner of Police thanked civil society organizations, transport unions, market leaders, traders and members of the public for their participation and feedback.
CP Bakori said the Command remained committed to transparent, accountable and people-oriented policing in line with the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, which prioritizes quality service delivery and respect for human rights.
He assured residents that the Command would use feedback gathered during the engagements to improve police services and strengthen safety and security across Kano State.
