The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has given all civil servants who have attained the statutory retirement age or completed the required years of service 48 hours to vacate their offices and hand over government property in their possession.

The commission said the directive followed its concern over the contents of Circular No. 10/2026, issued by the Office of the Head of Civil Service on 6 October 2026, directing all retired officers to immediately hand over.

In a statement issued by its Acting Executive Chairman, Hafsat Ada’u Kutama, PCACC described retired officers’ continued stay in service, salary collection, and use of government property as a violation of the Kano State Civil Service Rules and an act of economic sabotage against the state.

PCACC also directed all Permanent Secretaries and Directors of Administration to submit, before October 10, 2026, a list of officers who have retired either by age or years of service but are still occupying government offices.

The Commission also established a confidential whistleblower channel for civil servants to report retired officers who remain in office.

It urged members of the public and civil servants with relevant information to contact the commission on 08034677340.

PCACC warned that any officer found to have received, or aided the receipt of, government salary after retirement would be investigated accordingly.
