A community development expert, Blessing Fubara Snr., has defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), declaring that the people of Rivers State are determined to reclaim the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Fubara announced his defection in Abuja after he was received by the national leader of the NDC, Seriake Dickson, alongside other party stakeholders.
Speaking during the meeting, he described the NDC as “a moving train,” noting that his decision to join the party was motivated by the need to safeguard the interests of Rivers people amid the lingering political tensions in the state.
“The soul of Rivers State is at stake,” he said, adding that residents were already mobilising to “take back their state” in 2027.
He expressed optimism that peace and stability would return to the state after the elections, stressing that “Rivers will be okay.”
Fubara, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Development and Adult Education, currently serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of D’Consiglories LLC.
He has held several positions in both the public and private sectors, including serving as Technical Assistant to the Rivers State Government on Employment Generation and Empowerment, Resource Consultant to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on Youth Development, and Consultant to the Rivers State Government on Urban Renewal and Infrastructure Development.
Over the years, he has remained actively involved in community transformation initiatives, youth empowerment program, urban renewal advocacy, and socio-economic development efforts across Rivers State and the wider Niger Delta region.
