The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 13 local government areas and 171 wards contested in the Ebonyi State local government elections conducted on Saturday.
The Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) Chairman, Enyi Patrick, announced the results on Sunday, declaring the ruling party the winner of all the seats contested.
Patrick said the election was conducted peacefully across the state, with voters turning out in significant numbers to participate in the exercise.
Governor Francis Nwifuru commended the peaceful conduct of the election, praising EBSIEC for maintaining order and ensuring a smooth electoral process.
Nwifuru, who cast his ballot at Edupfu Okemini Polling Unit 002 in Oferekpe Agbaja, Izzi Local Government Area, also applauded voters and other stakeholders for their participation.
Stakeholders and major political figures across the state similarly commended the voter turnout and the generally peaceful conduct of the election.
The exercise was held across Ebonyi’s 13 local government areas and 171 political wards.
