The Sokoto State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bello Isyaka, has declared that the party is determined to rescue Nigeria from what he described as the failed leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that the ADC is preparing to offer Nigerians a credible and transformative alternative in the 2027 general elections.

Isyaka made the declaration on Thursday night while addressing journalists in Sokoto shortly after the party successfully conducted its ward congresses across the state’s 244 wards.

According to him, the ADC has intensified nationwide mobilisation aimed at reclaiming Nigeria’s democratic ideals and restoring the nation to a path of justice, unity and inclusive development.

“We are fully committed to salvaging Nigeria from the current situation and restoring the hopes of Nigerians. By the grace of God, the ADC is determined to rescue this nation in the 2027 general elections,” he said.

The chairman stressed that the party is steadily gaining traction across the country, describing the ADC as a rising political force capable of challenging the dominance of the ruling APC.

“ADC is the party to beat in the coming elections. Our mission is to take Nigeria to greater heights in line with the dreams and aspirations of millions of Nigerians who desire genuine progress and purposeful leadership,” Isyaka declared.

He further noted that the party’s long-term vision is to build a nation where security, prosperity and fairness are guaranteed for all citizens irrespective of their region, ethnicity or religious background.

“Nigeria must be safe, secure, united and economically prosperous. Every region of the country deserves equal opportunities and development so that all Nigerians can live with dignity and hope,” he added.

Responding to speculations of internal divisions within the party, Isyaka dismissed claims of factionalisation, affirming that the ADC remains united under its legitimate national leadership.

“Let it be clearly understood that there is only one genuine and legally recognised ADC in Nigeria. We remain the authentic leadership and bona fide members of the party,” he said.

Commenting on the ward congresses conducted across Sokoto State, the chairman described the exercise as peaceful, orderly and successful, noting that it reflected the party’s growing grassroots support.

According to him, the smooth conduct of the congresses underscores the commitment of party members to building a formidable political movement capable of transforming Nigeria.

He disclosed that the exercise was supervised by Senator Bashir Yar’Adua, who was deployed to Sokoto by the national headquarters of the party to ensure credibility and transparency in the process.

Isyaka explained that party officials monitored the congresses in several local government areas including Sokoto North, Sokoto South, Wamakko, Kware, Dange-Shuni and Yabo, all of which recorded peaceful exercises.

“From all the reports we received, the congresses were conducted peacefully and in accordance with the party’s guidelines. Our members demonstrated discipline, maturity and unity,” he said.

He further revealed that the party will proceed with the next stage of its internal democratic process with the conduct of Local Government Congresses scheduled for Saturday.

The state congress, he added, is expected to take place on 14 April 2026, as part of efforts to consolidate the party’s organisational structure ahead of future political contests.

Isyaka therefore called on Nigerians across the country to keep faith with the ADC, assuring that the party remains resolute in its mission to restore Nigeria’s lost glory.

“We urge Nigerians not to lose hope. The ADC is committed to rebuilding this country and restoring the dignity, prosperity and unity that Nigerians deserve,” the chairman stated.
