APM Wins Bauchi Sakwa Constituency By-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Adamu Yakubu of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) the winner of the Sakwa Constituency by-election in Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Professor Muhammad Sabo of the Federal University of Health Sciences Azare, the Returning Officer for the election, declared Yakubu the winner after the collation of results from the constituency.

“Adamu Yakubu of the Allied Peoples Movement, having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the Sakwa Constituency by-election,” Professor Sabo announced.

“I, therefore, declare Adamu Yakubu of the APM duly elected,” the Returning Officer said.

Yakubu polled 8,515 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), which secured 3,771 votes.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 2,076 votes, while the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) polled 727 votes.
