Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has inspected the ongoing construction of the 61.55-kilometre Dokan Tofa–Ba’ap–Kurqwi Road and its connecting routes, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering critical infrastructure aimed at accelerating rural development and economic growth across the state.
According to a statement on Friday by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to Governor, Gyang Bere, the inspection tour covered the Dokan Tofa–Ba’ap–Kurqwi Road project, including the spur linking Lardang–Bwall–Kwoor and Tim Road Section One, as well as additional construction works on the Jimbam–Dokan Kasuwa Road.
The projects, which form part of the Mutfwang administration’s infrastructure renewal agenda, are expected to improve connectivity among rural communities, facilitate the movement of people and agricultural produce, and stimulate economic activities in the affected areas.
Residents, particularly women who turned out in large numbers to welcome the governor, commended the administration for delivering on its campaign promises through impactful infrastructure projects.
They described the road developments as transformative interventions capable of improving livelihoods, boosting agricultural productivity, and enhancing access to essential services.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Mrs. Helen Ayuba praised Governor Mutfwang for his commitment to completing the projects and assured him of the communities’ full support. She also urged the contractor handling the projects to accelerate work to ensure their timely completion.
In his remarks, Governor Mutfwang thanked the residents for their support and confidence in his administration, assuring them that the road projects would be completed and commissioned as scheduled.
He reiterated that his government remains focused on providing quality infrastructure that addresses the needs of rural communities while promoting inclusive development across Plateau State.
The Governor also called on community members to continue cooperating with contractors and government officials to ensure the smooth execution and timely delivery of the projects.
Governor Mutfwang was accompanied on the inspection tour by the Secretary to the State Government, Arc. Samuel Nanchang Jatau; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Bldr. Jeremiah Satmark; Commissioner for Works, Hon. Joshua Ubandoma Laven; Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Ramnap; Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Council, Hon. Christopher Audu Manship; alongside other commissioners, government officials and local government chairmen.
