The Onojie of Ekpoma Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Anthony Ehizojie Abumere II, has strongly condemned the recent killings in Efe Block, Ihumudumu, and Eromon Ujemen communities in Ekpoma, reportedly carried out by suspected kidnappers.
The Monarch, alongside the traditional institution of Ekpoma, described the incident as tragic and disturbing, noting that it had sent shockwaves across the kingdom and heightened concerns over security.
In a statement from the palace, His Royal Majesty recalled that a community-based security network had been established across villages in the kingdom just a few months ago as part of proactive measures to curb rising insecurity.
He, however, stressed the urgent need for security agencies to intensify their operations to safeguard lives and property. The royal father urged all relevant agencies to strengthen collaboration and carry out regular patrols in strategic locations within the local government area.
The monarch also offered prayers for peace and stability in the land, calling on ancestral forces to protect Ekpoma from further security threats.
Reaffirming its commitment, the Ekpoma Royal Palace said it remains resolute in working with stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure environment for all residents.
