The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that the inaugural flight for the 2026 Hajj exercise will depart on May 14, in line with the timetable released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
The Director General of the Board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed on Monday during the closing ceremony of the Hajj Induction Course held at the School for Arabic Studies in Kano.
He said Max Air has been designated as the official carrier for Kano pilgrims, adding that all necessary arrangements have been concluded ahead of the airlift to ensure a seamless and successful operation.
“We have put in place all the required measures to guarantee a smooth commencement of the Hajj exercise,” he said.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Yusuf Lawan, urged intending pilgrims to continually study their induction materials at home to enhance their understanding of the rites.
He also advised them to strictly comply with the rules and regulations set by both Nigerian and Saudi Arabian authorities throughout the pilgrimage.
Representatives of key stakeholders, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, the Hajj Tribunal, the National Orientation Agency, Max Air, and Hisbah, delivered goodwill messages at the event, emphasizing the importance of discipline and cooperation for a hitch-free Hajj operation.
The induction course forms part of ongoing preparations to equip pilgrims with the knowledge required for a successful spiritual journey.
