The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Remi Tinubu, on Thursday commissioned the newly completed Lodge Road within the Government Reserved Area (G.R.A.) of Nasarawa Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano.

She also flagged off the construction of Sarkin Yaki Road in Sabon Gari of Fagge (LGA)

A statement by Kano Governor’s spokesperson, Mustapha Muhammed, said the First Lady was received and accompanied by the Executive Governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside his wife.

The wife of the governor of Katsina, the wife of the deputy president of the Senate, and other distinguished women leaders who added colour and significance to the occasion welcomed the first lady.

Speaking during the event, Senator Oluremi Tinubu highlighted the importance of infrastructure as a catalyst for economic advancement, social inclusion, and national development.

She stated that quality roads remain essential for easier movement of people and goods, improve security access, and strengthen state and national economies.

Senator Remi further stressed the need for sustained collaboration between federal, state, and LGA authorities to ensure more communities benefit from impactful projects that address the needs of the people.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, in his remarks, described the First Lady’s visit as a moment of pride and joy for Kano State and a testament to the spirit of partnership needed to advance development goals.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote growth, modernization, and prosperity across the state.

The commissioning of Lodge Road and the flag-off of the Sarkin Yaki Road project are expected to open new opportunities for businesses, improve transportation networks, and contribute significantly to urban renewal in Kano metropolis.
