A public interest organization, Pilex Center for Civic Education Initiative, has announced a minor restructure of its leadership.

In a release made available to Stallion Times signed by the Coordinator of the non-governmental organization, Comrade Courage Nsirimovu Esq, the Pilex Board at its 16 August 2025 meeting, after a review of its activities, passed a resolution for the restructuring to position it for greater performance and impact.

Under the new structure, Everest Nwankwo Esq., a respected development expert and legal practitioner, takes over as Board Chairman, while Egondu  Esinwoke, a long-term and seasoned development expert, assumes the position of Board Secretary, with the Coordinator Courage Nsirimovu as Member.

The changes took immediate effect.

PILEX Center, also known as the People’s Advocate, is a people-centered organization focused on advocacy for the welfare of WE THE PEOPLE.

It is championing cases of human and environmental rights abuses in the Niger Delta and was very focal in challenging the illegitimacy of the six-month state of emergency declared in Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu last year.

The organization challenged the democratic disruption with a legal action.

It is further pushing the environmental justice campaign for oil and gas host communities facing serious livelihood, health, and social challenges as a result of unregulated extractive activities by oil corporations to the African Human Rights.

Pilex has also conducted environmental impact research on the impact of oil activities in communities as part of preparations for the justice campaign.
