Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated distinguished officers of Kano origin who were recently elevated to the prestigious ranks of Major General, Rear Admiral, and Air Vice Marshal in the Nigerian Armed Forces.
In a statement signed on Friday by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the government described the promotions as well-earned acknowledgements of the officers’ professionalism, dedication, and patriotic service to the country.
Governor Yusuf expressed delight that Kano continues to produce exemplary individuals who rise to the highest levels of national security leadership.
The newly promoted officers are:
Nigerian Army
- Major General Sadisu Yahaya Yakasai
- Major General Sani Sulaiman
- Major General Samaila Musa Uba
Nigerian Navy
- Rear Admiral Chindo Usman Yahaya
Nigerian Air Force
- Air Vice Marshal Mukhtar Umar
As the state celebrates their achievements, the government urged the officers to continue upholding the values of integrity, courage, professionalism, and loyalty as they take on greater responsibilities.
He encouraged them to remain role models for younger Nigerians aspiring to careers in the military.
Governor Yusuf prayed for their continued success and divine guidance as they contribute to safeguarding the nation.
