Chioma Ifemeludike, the governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 8 November 2025, Anambra State election, has pledged to implement a N100,000 minimum wage for workers if elected.

In a press statement issued on Monday, Ifemeludike described the promise as a realistic economic plan rather than a political slogan.

She stated that her administration would achieve this target by reducing wasteful government spending and increasing internally generated revenue through policies that promote agriculture and entrepreneurship.

The AAC candidate also expressed gratitude to the organisers of the recent Anambra Governorship Debate held in Awka by the Creative Mind Centre for Youth and Community Development in partnership with Active Citizens Media.

She said the debate gave candidates a platform to share actionable ideas with the electorate.

“Our campaign isn’t built on empty promises or politics as usual. It is anchored on a practical plan to make governance work for the people,” she stated.

Ifemeludike outlined key aspects of her agenda, including security reform through the establishment of a professional Vigilante Agency to collaborate with local communities and security agencies.

She also vowed to overhaul the education sector by improving school infrastructure, updating curricula, and strengthening both formal and informal learning systems.

On job creation and youth empowerment, she promised large-scale investment in vocational training and entrepreneurship to support young people in building sustainable businesses.

Agriculture, she noted, would play a central role in her development agenda through mechanized farming and financial support for farmers to enhance food security.

Reaffirming her commitment to workers’ welfare, she insisted the ₦100,000 minimum wage plan was achievable with responsible fiscal management.

She also pledged inclusive governance, assuring that persons with disabilities would have a voice in her government, including appointments to her cabinet.

“The reaction from the debate audience was encouraging. Ndi Anambra connected with our message because it was practical, measurable, and people-focused,” she said.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that 16 candidates will participate in the upcoming governorship election, including the incumbent, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who is seeking re-election.
