Kano is set to come alive as more than 300 motorcycle enthusiasts from across Nigeria, Africa, and Europe converge on the ancient city for the “The Gathering 2025” Bikers Festival, organized by the Kano United Bikers Association.

The four-day event, scheduled to hold from November 1 to 4, 2025, aims to celebrate the spirit of adventure, promote cultural exchange, and showcase Kano’s hospitality and tourism potential.

Addressing journalists in Kano, on Sunday, the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Mohammed Rabiu Abubakar, said the festival would feature a range of thrilling activities, including motorcycle parades, speed contests, cultural exhibitions, charity outreach programs, and tourism promotion sessions.

Abubakar noted that the event has received the full backing of the Kano State Government and key security and transport agencies to ensure a safe and orderly experience for both participants and residents.

“We have worked closely with the police, road safety corps, and health officials to guarantee the safety and comfort of all guests.

“This festival is not just about biking, it’s about unity, culture, and giving back to the community,” he said.

As part of its corporate social responsibility, the association plans a series of community service initiatives, including visits to orphanages, donation of medical supplies to Asiya Bayero Hospital, and courtesy calls on traditional institutions such as the Emir of Kano’s Palace and Gidan Makama Museum.

The highlight of the festival will be a glamorous Culture-Themed Gala and Award Night, during which distinguished bikers and partner organizations will be recognised for their contributions to biking culture, safety, and social development.

Organisers said The Gathering 2025 represents more than a sporting or social event but it is a platform to promote tourism, strengthen community bonds, and project Kano as a hub of culture and creativity.

Abubakar expressed optimism that the event would attract significant economic benefits to the state through increased hotel bookings, transportation, and local business patronage.

“Our goal is to make Kano a major destination for motorcycle tourism in Africa.

“This gathering will put our city on the global biking map and highlight the richness of our traditions,” he added.

With hundreds of bikers expected to ride through Kano’s major streets in colourful display, residents are gearing up for a spectacle of culture, adventure, and brotherhood that promises to mark one of the city’s most exciting festivals of the year.
