The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered an attempt to export cocaine concealed in body cream containers to the United Kingdom and carried out several operations across the country, including a raid on a Lagos nightclub where a drug party was underway.

According to a statement by NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, operatives intercepted seventy parcels of cocaine weighing 3.6 kilograms at the export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, on October 14, 2025.

The illicit substance was factory-packed in the walls of cocoa butter formula body cream containers destined for London aboard an Air Peace flight.

A cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, who presented the consignment for export, was immediately arrested.

In Lagos, NDLEA operatives on Sunday, October 26, 2025, raided Proxy Night Club, located on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, where a drug party was in progress.

Over one hundred suspects, including the club owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening.

Cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from guests and the club’s storage area.

The operation followed intelligence reports about the drug-themed party, which officers embedded undercover disrupted around 3 a.m. based on Standard Operating Procedures.

In Abia State, NDLEA operatives arrested a 75-year-old man, Echendu Onuoka, at Ovum village, Obingwa Local Government Area, with 4.7 kilograms of skunk, while a 60-year-old woman, Aukana John, was caught with 225 grams of the same substance at Apanta village in the same council area.

The agency also recorded multiple seizures across the country.

In Taraba State, Auwal Musa, 26, and Salihu Bala, 22, were arrested at the Dan-Anacha checkpoint with 450,000 pills of tramadol and exol-5 hidden in a truck conveying building materials from Onitsha to Mubi.

He was reportedly transporting the weapons from Sokoto to Bagega forest in Anka Local Government Area.

The suspect and the exhibits have since been handed over to the appropriate security agency for further investigation.

Babafemi noted that in addition to enforcement operations, NDLEA commands and formations across the country intensified their War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization campaigns during the week.

The programmes targeted schools, workplaces, religious centres and communities in Oyo, Kebbi, Enugu, Benue, Taraba, Rivers and Kano States, among others.

Commending the officers involved in the arrests and seizures, the NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), praised their dedication and urged them to sustain the momentum.
