The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has stated that his administration’s commitment to completing all ongoing and future projects within his tenure, vowing that no project will be abandoned under his leadership.
The governor made this known on Friday during the groundbreaking ceremony for township road projects in Rigasa Ward, Igabi Local Government Area, and Zango in Tudun Wada, Kaduna South Local Government Area.
Speaking at the Rigasa event, Sani said the road construction would be executed without accruing any debt.
He pledged that all contractors who complete their projects would be paid by the state government.
He said, “The projects will be fully funded. We have already paid 50 per cent mobilisation to the contractors.”
Sani emphasised that Rigasa, one of the most populous wards in the country, had long been neglected in spite of its proximity to the city centre and its significant population of hardworking residents.
“Rigasa has been overlooked for too long. Its infrastructure deficit is worrisome.
“But this project is not just about building roads. It is about opening up opportunities for the urban poor who contribute daily to the development of Kaduna State,” he said.
Sani expressed appreciation for the electoral support received from Rigasa, noting that the ward accounted for over 32 per cent of votes from Igabi local government during the 2023 governorship election.
“For this, I remain eternally grateful. This project is also a way of saying thank you for your trust and support,” he added.
The governor said the Rigasa road project would directly improve the lives of thousands of residents, including farmers, civil servants, and small business owners.
“Through their sacrifices, they contribute significantly to our economy and GDP. Investing in roads like these will enhance livelihoods and stimulate local growth,” he stated.
