Kaduna State Government has assured residents of Zaria and surrounding communities that it is taking seriously concerns raised over the reported plan to relocate a 40MVA transformer currently stationed in the area.

The government, through the Kaduna Power Supply Company, confirmed it had received a petition on the matter and stressed that the transformer remains a critical infrastructure for a stable electricity supply in Zaria.

According to a statement signed on Tuesday by the Managing Director of Kaduna Power Supply Company, Engr. Idris Aminu Idris, the government had commenced investigations into the reported relocation and was engaging relevant stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Power, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), and the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

“Our goal is to ensure that any decisions regarding this vital asset are made with the best interests of the people of Zaria at heart,” the statement read.

The Kaduna State Government further reaffirmed its commitment to providing citizens with reliable access to essential services, especially power supply, which it described as central to economic growth and community development.
