The Kogi State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (Kogi RAAMP) has emerged as a model for rural development, marked by transparency, inclusiveness, and measurable progress.

Under the capable leadership of Engineer Sheidu Obansa Adamu, State Project Coordinator, and with unwavering support from Engineer Abdulmutalib Muhammad, Honourable Commissioner for Energy and Rural Development, Kogi, RAAMP is delivering targeted interventions in rural infrastructure and agriculture across the state.

The project thrives on collaboration.

At its heart is the State Project Monitoring Committee (SPMC), chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, working hand-in-hand with key stakeholders.

From traditional rulers and community leaders to women and youth groups, market associations, and opinion shapers, Kogi RAAMP ensures every voice is heard and every contribution counted.

Its impact is widespread and strategic, Kogi West: Road upgrades in Ilai-Ifeolukotun and market improvements at Aiyegunle, Kogi Central: Massive intervention on the AKU-Obajana road and development of the AKU Market Hub, and Kogi East: Rehabilitation of rural roads like Elubi-Etiaja and transformation of the Ajaka Market.

These are not isolated projects, but interconnected efforts covering nearly every local government area, aimed at enhancing rural connectivity, minimizing post-harvest losses, and strengthening agricultural value chains.

From road construction to modern agro-logistics infrastructure, Kogi RAAMP is adding value where it matters most: in the daily lives of farmers, traders, and rural entrepreneurs.

Every culvert, every kilometre of road, and every market upgrade contributes to a broader vision, empowering rural communities with dignity and economic opportunity.

Backed by the World Bank and strongly supported by the Kogi State Government, the project exemplifies accountability and community ownership.

Environmental and social safeguards are built into every phase, ensuring development remains sustainable and responsible.

As milestones are achieved, the call is for collective action.

The success of Kogi RAAMP depends not only on government will but also on community participation, stakeholder support, and a shared commitment to truth and transparency.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo envisions a state where no rural community is left behind, and Kogi RAAMP is a major vehicle propelling that vision forward.

The message is clear: Let every citizen, leader, and stakeholder join hands in sustaining the momentum.

Together, let’s speak facts, promote progress, and champion the transformative journey of Kogi RAAMP in unlocking rural prosperity.
