Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its leading role in human capital development, emerging with the lowest number of out-of-school children in Northern Nigeria.
This was revealed by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Hon. Ismaila Isah, during the 2025 Blueprint Impact Award Series held in Abuja on Tuesday.
Isah represented Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who was honoured with the “Governor of the Year in Human Capital Development” award.
Describing the recognition as a reflection of the administration’s strategic focus, Isah highlighted the state’s major investments in education and healthcare since Governor Ododo assumed office.
He noted that over N1 billion has been spent on covering external examination fees for students in public primary and secondary schools across the state within a year.
“This deliberate investment has led to a significant increase in school enrolment and retention, contributing to Kogi’s position as the state with the lowest number of out-of-school children in Northern Nigeria, an achievement backed by national data,” Isah stated.
He added that Governor Ododo’s administration is also revitalizing more than 300 primary healthcare centres across the 21 local government areas, reinforcing the government’s commitment to a healthier, more educated population.
“Kogi State under Governor Ododo has shown that investing in people delivers measurable outcomes. This award is a testament to that progress,” he said.
The Blueprint Impact Award Series is an annual event that celebrates outstanding contributions to national development, innovation, and governance by individuals and institutions.
