Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has approved the payment of N2.185 billion in entitlements to former councillors who served between 2004 and 2024.
The directive was issued on Thursday during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Kebbi State Councillors’ Forum at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
The Governor ordered immediate part payment by Friday and instructed that the balance be cleared by the end of July.
Governor Idris pledged his continued support for the forum and acknowledged the councillors’ contributions to grassroots governance.
Forum Chairman, Hon. Bello M. Gulumbe, expressed gratitude, noting that past administrations failed to honour the entitlement. He assured the governor of the ex-councillors’ full support in advancing his administration’s goals.
