Seven individuals were apprehended at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport for allegedly vandalizing and stealing ten manhole metal covers belonging to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

The suspects were arrested by NSCDC personnel stationed at the airport and subsequently handed over to the Anti-Vandalism Unit, whose investigation led to the arrest of additional accomplices.

The suspects identified in the case are Abubakar Umar (20), Sadiq Jafar (23), Iliya Nasir (20), Abba Muhammad (18), and Al-Ameen Idris (18), all of whom are believed to be directly involved in the vandalism.

Two suspected receivers of the stolen items, Shamsu Ibrahim Usman (35) of Daiba Rijiyar Lemo and Yusuf Abdulmumini (25) of Kurna Babban Layi, were also arrested.

Recovered items from the suspects include ten manhole covers and a Mercedes-Benz vehicle reportedly used in the operation.
