The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has approved several significant appointments aimed at strengthening the university’s academic and administrative leadership.
The appointments, which carry a two-year tenure, took effect on 24 June 2025 and will remain valid until 23 June 2027.
Leading the list of new appointments is Professor Andrew Zamani, who has been named the Director of Academic Planning. In a memo signed by the University Registrar, Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, Professor Zamani is tasked with providing efficient academic and administrative leadership to further enhance sound academic policies and programs for the University.
Until this appointment, Professor Zamani served as the Director of the flagship Institute of Governance and Development Studies (IGDS).
Succeeding him at the Institute of Governance and Development Studies is Professor Terhemba Shija of the Department of English, who has been appointed as the new Director of the Institute.
Other key appointments include:
1. Professor Bamidele Titilayo O. of the Department of Biochemistry as Deputy Dean, Academic, School of Postgraduate Studies.
2. Dr. Shuaibu Umar Abdul of the Department of Political Science as Deputy Dean, Administration, School of Postgraduate Studies.
3. Professor Usman Shehu Umar as the Chairman, Security Committee of the University.
4. Dr. Abdul Ibrahim of the Department of Economics as Acting Director, Linkages and International Cooperation.
5. Dr. John Blessing Abecan of the Department of Business Administration as Deputy Director, Linkages and International Cooperation.
6. Dr. Yusuf Alhaji Usman of the Department of Sociology as Deputy Director, Institute of Governance and Development Studies.
In addition, the Vice-Chancellor has also approved the following acting directorate appointments:
1. Dr. Mustapha Ahmed Umar of the Department of Computer Science as Acting Director, DDAEM.
2. Dr. Mustapha Muhammad of the Department of English as Third Semester Coordinator.
3. Dr. Hauwa V. Jatto of the Department of Economics as the Deputy Director, Raw Materials Research Institute.
4. Dr. Muhammad Maishanu of the Department of Islam & Development Studies as Deputy Director, NSUK Consult.
These strategic appointments underscore the university management’s commitment to enhancing its academic prowess, administrative efficiency, and overall institutional development.
