Sultan Urges Unity, Resolve Among Leaders to Confront Nigera’s Challenges

The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Sa’ad Abubakar, has Friday issued a clarion call to Nigerian leaders to set aside differences and commit to united, purposeful action to address the country’s mounting challenges.

Delivering his Eid-el-Kabir message in Sokoto, the Sultan stressed that only through sincere unity and dedication among political and traditional leaders can Nigeria chart a course toward lasting peace and development.

“Insecurity remains a grave concern in Sokoto and across northern Nigeria

“Despite the efforts of our security agencies, the situation demands more coordinated and determined responses,” Sultan Abubakar lamented.

He charged the nation’s leaders to forge a collective front in supporting security agencies with strategic planning and resource mobilization to ensure a secure and stable future for all citizens.

Sultan Abubakar acknowledged the commendable work of security personnel across the country, but emphasized that achieving long-term peace requires more than isolated efforts it demands a national consensus and proactive governance.

He expressed deep sympathy for the government and people of Niger State following a devastating flood disaster that recently claimed several lives.

He called for collective compassion and swift humanitarian response to affected communities.

Turning his message to Nigerian pilgrims currently performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia, the Sultan urged them to fervently pray for the nation’s progress, stability, and divine guidance.

He appealed to Almighty Allah to accept the pilgrims’ acts of worship and extend His mercy and blessings upon Nigeria during this spiritually significant season.

The Sultan further encouraged all Nigerians to undergo a sincere transformation in attitudes and character, highlighting that meaningful change begins with individual commitment to integrity and good conduct.

He expressed strong optimism about Nigeria’s future, asserting that despite current difficulties, the nation’s best days are still ahead.

The revered monarch reminded citizens to uphold the fear of God in all actions, noting that moral uprightness remains the bedrock of national unity and prosperity.

In recognition of ongoing development efforts, Sultan Abubakar lauded the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, for implementing people-centered policies that are making tangible impacts on the lives of ordinary citizens.

He applauded the governor’s resolve to improve governance and promote welfare, urging other leaders to emulate his proactive approach.

Concluding his message, the Sultan extended warm Sallah greetings to all Muslims, praying for a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration, and asking Allah to accept their sacrifices and reward their devotion.
