World Muslim League Grants 732 Sokoto Orphans Scholarship

The World Muslim League has granted scholarships to 732 Orphans in Sokoto state under the watchful eyes of its member, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wammako (Sarkin Yamma Sokoto).

The 732 Orphans male and female were drawn from 15 out of 23 local government areas of the state.

The benefiting council and areas are Sokoto North, Sokoto South, Wammako, Silame, Bodinga, Kware, Shagari, Yabo, Tureta, Dange Shuni, Binji, Rabah, Illela and Rabah local government areas.

In his welcome address, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wammako said the delay in the disbursement of the scholarship was sanctions imposed on certain international organizations by the West.

He said the 732 were carefully selected from 1146 orphans registered from the state, adding that the scholarship grants will be a continuous process.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu while flagging off disbursement held at the Secretariat of World Muslim League in the state capital, said his admissions were all out to ensure that vulnerable orphans in the state live a comfortable and healthy life.

“My administration will provide Western type and Islamic education to orphans and vulnerable in the state”

“We have increased the cash allocation of the state Orphanage home and a Bus for their conveyance to and from schools daily.

“We have also provided food, clothing, drugs, and toes for the welfare and comfort like any other child of well-to-do in the state.”

“My administration is committed to ensuring the welfare of Orphans and vulnerable children while calling on well to do in the society to do the same.”

“We will prioritize Islamic affairs which is one of the 9 points smart agenda of my administration,” he said.
