Celebrity fashion designer, Veekee James, has spoken about the emotional toll false rumours linking her to her husband, Femi Atere, took on her.
During an appearance with Atere on The Nancy Isime Show, the 30-year-old revealed that allegations claiming she “stole” her husband from a friend nearly pushed her into depression.
Veekee explained that the episode left her locked in her room for two days, crying and praying, before she eventually overcame the situation.
“That was the first time I understood what people who say they are depressed feel. The way God brought me out felt like a miracle. Since then, I’ve developed thick skin to negative comments,” she said.
The designer, who got married to Atere on February 10, 2024, in a ceremony attended by several Nollywood stars and socialites, added that she now laughs off such stories whenever they resurface.
