Sokoto State Government on Tuesday commenced the disbursement of N50 million to 90 Youth groups donated for Iftar by Governor Ahmed Aliyu.

The donation aims to ease the growing hardship faced by the youth groups during Ramadan and Sallah celebrations.

According to the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Amb. Engr. Dr. Mustapha Mohammed, the ministry organized a Ramadan breakfast (Iftar) for youth associations and provided cash assistance to support young people in the state.

“This initiative is part of the governor’s efforts to empower youths and implement his 9-Smart agenda of transforming the state.

“The disbursement will benefit various youth associations and groups, enabling them to break their fast with ease during Ramadan.”

Dr. Mohammed praised Governor Aliyu’s commitment to the state’s youth, citing his initiation of meaningful projects that have positively impacted the state.

He, however, thanked the governor for his gesture and wished the state All Progressives Congress leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, good health and prosperity.

The event highlighted the disbursement of assistance to leaders of various associations held at the headquarters of the Ministry by the Commissioner, Permanent Secretary, and other Directors of the Ministry.
