Police Urges Peaceful Easter Celebrations, Assures Maximum Security in Sokoto

The Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Ahmed Musa, has in Thursday extended warm Easter greetings to the Christian community in the state, urging all residents to celebrate peacefully and responsibly.

In a statement on behalf of officers and men of the command, CP Musa emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and order during the festive period.

He cautioned against any activities that could lead to a breakdown of law and order, urging citizens to cooperate fully with law enforcement personnel.

CP Musa advised travelers and motorists to use only recognized motor parks, drive safely, and avoid the use of alcohol or intoxicants while driving.

He also encouraged travelers to stay in touch with family and friends throughout their journeys.

“To ensure a hitch-free celebration, the command has deployed adequate personnel and resources, including conventional police officers, intelligence operatives, mobile police units, the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) unit, and mounted troops, to provide security and manage crowds across the state,” he added.

The Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the command’s readiness to fulfill its constitutional duties in line with global best practices, while safeguarding the fundamental rights of citizens.

He reiterated the police’s commitment to making Sokoto State a hostile environment for criminals.
