NUJ Kano Celebrates Eid El-Kabir with Muslim Faithful

The Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists felicitates with Members and the Muslim faithful on Eid el-Kabir.

This was contained in a statement on Friday jointly signed by the Acting Chairman, Comrade Mustapha Gambo Muhammad, alias Capacity, and the Secretary, Comrade Abubakar Shehu Kwaru.

The statement described the Festival as a period of merriment, visitations, happiness, gifts, sacrifice, love, affection, sober reflection, and supplications.

It enjoined the Ummah to reflect on the teachings of the Holy Prophet his companions and exceptional scholars of Islam on how best to ensure a peaceful, United, unique and prosperous society

The statement however adulated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf who at present is performing the yearly Hajj at Makkah over the spate of progression he brought in the state specifically in the field of Education, Infrastructure, prompt payment of salaries and above all settling of retirees entitlements

It more so hoped more will be done in areas encompassing provision of potable drinking water as well as fighting criminality and thuggery among youths within the length and breadth of the state

The statement hailed the way and manner the state Acting Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo and his subordinates have been steering the affairs of the state since the Governor left for the holy land, describing it as superb and worthy of commendation

It, however, cautioned the generality on the need to be careful in anything they would take, especially meat, as the celebration is a period of animal sacrifice and anything that may lead to unnecessary conveyance to health institutions should be entirely avoided.
