The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has taken custody of five suspected vandals accused of stealing electricity armoured cables worth millions of Naira.

The suspects were arrested by operatives of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Kano/Jigawa Area Command, along the Ringim–Hadejia road in Jigawa State, before being handed over to the NSCDC for investigation and prosecution.

Receiving the suspects on Monday at the Customs House in Kano, the newly deployed State Commandant of the NSCDC, Bala Bawa Bodinga, commended the Area Comptroller for fostering collaboration and synergy between security agencies.

He described the gesture as a model of cooperation that would go a long way in addressing security challenges in Kano and across the country.

Commandant Bodinga assured that the suspects, who are currently being profiled, will face the full weight of the law upon completion of investigations.

The handover was confirmed in a statement by SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, Civil Defence Public Relations Officer, Kano Command, on behalf of the State Commandant.
