The newly posted NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Bala Bawa Bodinga, briefed journalists on the command’s operations across the state, stating that the suspects were apprehended at different locations in connection with the crimes.

He disclosed that seven suspects were arrested in Danmanomi Village, Gumel Local Government Area, for vandalizing power supply infrastructure, with exhibits recovered.

The commandant added that, one Adam Hassan of Kantamari Village, Kaugama Local Government Area, was arrested for alleged cattle rustling, with 11 livestock recovered in his possession.

In a separate incident, the NSCDC arrested Hassan Adamu for alleged fraud and inflicting grievous injury on Ibrahim Musa of Azama Village, Malam Madori Local Government Area.

The Commandant noted that these achievements were recorded within less than two weeks of his assumption of duty as the state commandant. He added that upon completing investigations, the suspects would be charged to court to face the full wrath of the law.

Mr. Bawa urged NSCDC area commandants, officers, and personnel to intensify efforts in collaborating with the public to rid Jigawa State of criminal elements and reduce social vices to the barest minimum.

“Our Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has given us strict directives on our duty to protect the lives and property of Nigerians. To achieve this, we must strengthen collaboration with political leaders, community leaders, and other security agencies within our jurisdictions,” he stated.

He further appealed to the people of Jigawa State to report any suspicious activities or breaches of public peace to the nearest NSCDC office or other security agencies for prompt intervention.
