Kano State Commissioner for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring, and Evaluation, Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, has received the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) Appreciation Award.
The award, presented by the NIOB Kano State Branch, recognizes his contributions to the Building Engineering Sector.
The commissioner was acknowledged for his contributions and strategies in monitoring public projects since his appointment.
Presenting the award, the NIOB highlighted its tradition of celebrating individuals and institutions contributing to the field of building engineering.
“Through this award, we honor excellence and the positive impact made on various building engineering sectors,” a representative of the association remarked.
While receiving the accolade, Ma’aji Sumaila expressed his gratitude to the NIOB for the recognition. “This award is a testament to our dedication. I assure you that my ministry will continue to collaborate with the Nigerian Institute of Building and operate within its guidelines,” he said.
A few days ago, the Honorable Commissioner led a 6-man committee formed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to inspect the ongoing construction of the Kwankwasiyya Gida-Gida Block of classrooms across the 44 local governments.
The committee has since concluded the monitoring tour and plans to prepare a report and table it before Governor Yusuf for appropriate taken.
