The Network for Jigawa Civil Society (NetJiC) working around gender and social inclusions has thrown its weight behind the state first lady Hadiza Umar Namadi’s inauguration of the Women in Da’awa committee to promote the true teaching of Islam for inculcating spiritual and moral discipline in the heat of young generation and the public for a better society.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Chairman of the group, Comrade Mustapha Umar Babura.
The group however describes the initiative as a welcome development that will also poster literacy and women’s participation in governance and economic inclusion.
The statement noted that the initiative has already provided employment opportunities to over five hundred women carefully selected from across the state for the program.
“Two women were selected from each of the 287 wards across the 27 LGA to take up the responsibility of da’wah (Islamic Teachings) at the grassroots levels to increase awareness about the true teaching of Islam that promotes peaceful coexistence and service to humanity.
“We promised to give all necessary support for the successful take-off of the project and independent monitoring for achieving the desired goals, “the statement revealed
The Women Da’awah Program a collaborative effort between the Jigawa State Government, the State Council of Ulama, and other religious and community leaders, seeks to educate women on Islamic teachings, enhance their roles in family and community development, and promote peaceful coexistence based on the principles of justice, kindness, and mutual respect.
