On Friday, the Ministry for Public Procurement Projects Monitoring and Evaluation (MPPPME), Kano, received the Ministry for Women Affairs, Children and Persons with Special Needs on an advocacy visit aimed at strengthening inclusive public procurement practices across the state.

The visit, led by the Commissioner, Ministry for Women Affairs, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani (popularly known as Amina HOD), sought to deepen inter-ministerial collaboration to ensure that public procurement processes become more inclusive, equitable, and responsive to the needs of women, children, and persons with special needs.

During the engagement, discussions focused on the development and institutionalization of frameworks that would enhance participation, accessibility, and fair opportunities for all stakeholders within government procurement systems.

Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani urged the MPPPME to adopt an Inclusive Procurement Policy, establish measurable implementation targets, and ensure adequate allocation of resources for effective execution, monitoring, and evaluation.

She emphasized that embedding inclusivity principles into procurement processes is essential to preventing vulnerable groups from being excluded from public sector opportunities and development interventions.

In response, the MPPPME reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance in line with the present administration’s development agenda.

The Ministry further assured continued collaboration with relevant stakeholders to strengthen monitoring systems that promote fairness, equity, and inclusivity in procurement practices.

The visit was widely regarded as a significant milestone in advancing inter-ministerial cooperation toward promoting social inclusion and sustainable development in Kano State.
