The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a final fare of N8,561,013.67 for intending pilgrims to the 2026 Holy Pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The Secretary of the Board, Mr. AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, disclosed this in a statement issued over the weekend, noting that the fare aligns with the rates earlier announced by the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Prof. Abdullahi Sale Usman.

While southern states are to pay N8,561,013.67, intending pilgrims from Maiduguri/Yola Zone (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, and Taraba) will pay N8,118,333.67, while other northern states are to pay N8,244,813.67.

Ajomagberin explained that the Lagos announcement resolves uncertainty over the actual fare, giving pilgrims and stakeholders enough time to plan.

He urged those who had made part-payment to complete their balance before the new deadline of December 31, 2025, while those yet to make deposits should commence payments without delay.

To ease the process, the board will accept payments in three instalments via bank drafts issued in favour of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

On the 2026 Ramadan Umrah, Ajomagberin also revealed that the state has fixed N5.7 million as the lowest package for intending pilgrims, adding that the choice of package depends on individual affordability.

He assured that Lagos would, as always, provide a comfortable atmosphere for pilgrims to perform both Hajj and Umrah successfully.
